Chewy Butterscotch Squares

Ingredients:

butter or margarine
1 cup
(250 mL)
brown sugar, packed

egg
1 tsp

pure vanilla extract
¾ cup

Five Roses® All Purpose Flour
1 tsp
(5 mL)
baking powder
¼ tsp
(1 mL)
salt
⅓ cup
(75 mL)
nuts (pecans, almonds, walnuts), chopped
⅓ cup
(75 mL)
coconut
Directions:
- Heat butter in large saucepan until melted. Remove from heat.
- Stir in brown sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth.
- Add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
- Spread mixture evenly in lightly greased 8" (20 cm) square baking pan.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until light golden. Don't overbake for chewy squares.
